Creativity. Passion. Eagerness to learn.

For Debra Scotti, Learning and Development Specialist at Mini-Circuits, those are more than just buzzwords; they are core values that encapsulate her unique and exciting career journey.

Debra was born into a household of educators. Her entire childhood from as far back as she can remember was steeped in learning. “I was raised with a growth mindset,” Debra said. “Learning something new every day and sharing it at the dinner table was part of our family’s routine.”

Debra’s curiosity led her down a winding road of quintessential New York career experiences. A background in fashion product development and production ultimately equipped her with a strong foundation in management. Her professional journey began to take a new trajectory when she landed a position at Ralph Lauren that transitioned her from product to training. That move propelled her into the realm of corporate learning and development, which would prove to be a perfect fit going forward.

As she delved deeper into corporate training, Debra discovered that her passion for learning aligned beautifully with Mini-Circuits’ culture of continuous improvement. “I’m attracted to companies that invest in their people,” Debra said. “Mini-Circuits is taking that to the next level by housing a dedicated learning and development department.”

With roots firmly planted in education and a deep appreciation for gaining and sharing knowledge, Debra is excelling in her role as Learning and Development Specialist. She is an education architect, intertwining curriculum design and program management while promoting a learning culture throughout the company.

One of Debra’s key projects, Mini-Circuits’ Diploma Series, is a clear example of Mini-Circuits’ commitment to nurturing talent and fostering growth from within. The series is built on thoughtfully designed courses that equip members to navigate interpersonal relationships and professional communications.

“For those in a management role, classes are geared toward that perspective,” Debra said. “Our managers are actively learning about team building, delegation, conflict management, and coaching and development.”

The professional track follows a role-optimized curriculum as well. Debra explained, “We’re starting with our class on guiding collaborative discussions because we think that’s a great foundational class for everyone. And then we talk about time management and successful presentation skills.”

Central to Debra’s approach are interactive and engaging learning experiences. Whether it’s facilitating dynamic discussions or orchestrating activities, she ensures that every session is truly and authentically collaborative. In addition to the Diploma Program, Debra nurtures professional growth in Mini-Circuits’ HIPO and Pipeline Program and various other training initiatives at our Brooklyn, New York headquarters. She also joins new hire orientations to start building relationships and get employees excited about their development opportunities from the get-go.

Debra’s work doesn’t stop at the office door. Beyond her role at Mini-Circuits, Debra is a staunch advocate for professional development and is actively involved in the New York City chapter of the Association for Talent Development (ATD) as the Co-VP of programs. She embodies Mini-Circuits’ belief that learning should be a lifelong pursuit, both inside and outside the workplace.

As she continues to design and implement effective training programs at Mini-Circuits, Debra’s zest for learning and development is visible in every interaction. When talking to her, you can’t help but get excited about all the opportunities out there—and in here—to learn and apply new knowledge.
